My prayers are with him

Robinson acknowledges alcoholism, enters rehab
By Anne Saunders, Associated Press Writer February 14, 2006

CONCORD, N.H. --The Episcopal Church's first openly gay bishop, V. Gene Robinson, says he is being treated for alcoholism, surprising many of his diocesan friends and colleagues.

I believe 1,000 % that he should not have become a Bishop. But, I pray for him in this time of physical, emotional, and spiritual struggle.

For the Victims of Addiction
Blessed Lord, you ministered to all who came to you: Look with compassion upon all who through addiction have lost their health and freedom. Restore to them the assurance of your unfailing mercy; remove from them the fears that beset them; strengthen them in the work of their recovery; and to those who care for them, give patient understanding and persevering love.
Amen

Amen.
None of us may cast the stone as we are all made of glass. I also opposed his consecration, but not out of hate, but, I hope, out of love; love for His Word that is the structure of our lives. We are called to follow, not invent. To obedience, not rebellion. This is a continuing battle that faces us all every day of our lives. May we pray for one another and triumph together as sons.
Praise the Lord!
