Finding Said to Boost Proof of Goliath
JERUSALEM - Archaeologists digging at the purported biblical home of Goliath have unearthed a shard of pottery bearing an inscription of the Philistine's name, a find they claimed lends historical credence to the Bible's tale of David's battle with the giant.
I must confess I am a little conflicted by this news. On one hand, I am glad to see another case where archaeologists are confirming the biblical accounts. On the other hand, I wonder what archaeologists will think 3,000 years from now when they dig up a Mickey Mouse T-shirt. Will that mean that Mickey actually existed?
