Rom. 1:16-25 (NRSV)
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel; it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who has faith, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
25because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever
In these two verses, we have a summary of the entire biblical message. Mankind exchanged the truth of God for a (the) lie. What is the lie? That we can be as God. That we can be independent of God. That we can have life in and of ourselves. What is the solution? The gospel, the good news. ...God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself...2 Cor. 5:19
