Just be quiet

Five mainline protestant leaders call Bush's 2006 budget 'unjust'

[Washington, D.C.] Leaders of five mainline Protestant denominations representing more than 20 million followers in the United States today called President Bush's 2006 federal budget "unjust."

I bet these same people are the first to invoke the "Separation of Church and State" any other time. Funny thing, they don't want the Ten Commandments posted in public, they don't want restrictions on abortion, but they want to tell the Feds how to spend other peoples money.

From me to them, "Just shut up". I'm sorry, to be more polite, "Just be quiet".

Cal,
Well said. What happened to the liberal cant about not imposing our personal morality on public policy? Why is it that a "conservative" churchman speaking against abortion is violating the First Amendment, but a "liberal" churchman, or any non-christian leader, who speaks against Bush or for same sex partnerships is doing social justice?
Hypocrasy. Let us hope that people are finally starting to see it and call a spade a spade.
Thank God for common sense.
Peace.
